Hey I’m Briony- (Pronounced Bri-neee … just to clarify as all my life I have been called everything under the sun. Bri-oney, Briany, Brainy.. and even Brownie… Thank the parents!!
Born and raised in a small market town in the wonderful north of England.
I’m a 27 years old travelling fanatic, outdoor enthusiast and teacher of the next gen.
Growing up my main priority was to climb that career ladder and become successful. After years of studying I began full time employment in a profession I had always dreamed off.
I wholeheartedly loved my job and the rewards and job satisfaction that came with it, but…there was something missing… that desire to explore the world.
In summer 2018 I completed a mentoring programme in South India; a project which enabled me to combine my love of teaching and my interest in travelling. 5 weeks training an amazing group of teachers on how to improve their teaching practices further ignited my love for teaching and my desire to travel more, exploring diverse cultures, meeting new people and experiencing new ways of living and working.
Although I had ‘travelled’ before, this was my first solo experience and ultimately the turning point where I suddenly thought.
‘Am I living to work, or working to live?’
The following year, I quit my full-time job, booked a one-way flight and embarked upon a worldwide backpacking trip of a lifetime. I had the most amazing time and truly believe this experience was life changing (cringey but true!)
Now I want to share my experiences, my love for exploring and some handy hints and tips to hopefully inspire others to pursue that desire.
